Our dad, Kevin Powers, is scheduled to undergo two major surgeries this year that will significantly impact his ability to work and support his family. On August 11, he will have neck surgery to repair a herniated disc between his C5 and C6 vertebrae. The recovery time is expected to be about four weeks, during which he will be unable to preach or fulfill his usual duties.

Later in the year, on November 20, he will undergo a full knee replacement on his left leg. This surgery comes with a much longer recovery time—approximately three months—where he again won’t be able to go out and preach, which is his main source of income.

These two recovery periods combined mean a loss of around $20,000 in income, which directly impacts his ability to cover everyday living expenses, medical costs not covered by insurance, and other financial obligations.
