Parodi Barn Fire Recovery

Donation protected
On the night of August 31, 2020, the unthinkable happened to the Parodi Family.  Their barn caught fire and burned to the ground with two of their beautiful horses, both horse trailers, a loft full of hay, a feed room full of grain, and a lifetime of accumulated tack inside.  There are no words adequate enough to describe the utter devastation and profound sadness.

In the barn were Holly, the sweetest Canadian mare imaginable, and their newest family addition - Silencio or Lance for short.  They had only had Lance for about a year, but he was Sue's dream show horse.  She and Mikey saved for quite a few years to finally be able to buy Silencio, "the horse of a lifetime."  They treated all of their horses like kings/queens, only ever giving them the best care imaginable.  Sue and Mikey often joked that their horses ate better than they did!  Fortunately, three of their horses survived:  Grandus, a breathtakingly majestic-looking Fresian, Joey, the most lovable horse ever, and Snowy, the Pony.

Why am I involved?  Sue and Mikey are second parents to my daughter Alex who recently left for college.  Alex spent the last 6+ years working with and learning from Sue.  Sue trained and took Alex to so many horse shows that Alex became among the top junior dressage riders in the state.  She won the bulk of her awards riding Holly, except in her last show where she rode Lance.  The incredible life-long gifts that my daughter learned from the Parodis are priceless.

This is the kindest, most loving horse family imaginable.  They are crushed by the loss of their beloved horses.  Plus, their lifetime collection of tack is all gone.  Stunning saddles, helmets, both horse trailers, whips, leads, halters, boots, gloves. On top of all of the horse stuff, they had so much more in there such as medieval gear, wood working, metal working, tools,  Christmas and Halloween decorations,  . . . EVERYTHING.

This is the reason for this post.  Any money that you are able to donate will never bring back those two spectacular animals, but it can certainly help with all of the other losses and expenses.  Insurance will not even come close to covering all the losses.  I picked $5000 as the goal for this campaign, but they are going to need sooo much more than that.  They still have 3 horses that need equipment, food, hay, etc.  Please help if you can.  Please.

EDIT:  Someone just mentioned that if we have a hurricane come through, they will need a trailer to get the horses out because we flood.  Hopefully we can raise enough money to help them with a replacement.
