The night of September 29, Edward Parkhill was assaulted while walking home. The perpetrators fled on foot leaving and unconscious Edward and one of his friends alone. Fortunately a nurse at UF Shand’s Hospital witnessed the attack and was able to assist and is likely the reason he is still alive today. Edward sustained life threatening brain trauma which landed him in the hospital for the better part of two weeks. Edwards parents flew down from Nevada the same night and have been living in Gainesville. As of Wednesday, October 9th, he has left the hospital and is beginning the long road of recover. This go fund me serves to help Edward and his family pay for living and traveling expenses while they stay with him as he heals.
