Parker's top surgery & recovery fund

Howdy!

My name is Parker (he/they), I'm a 25 year old transmasculine person living in Hamilton, Ontario. I'm here because I was just recently given the opportunity to have top surgery, in a much sooner time frame than I had originally anticipated. I am aiming to schedule my surgery in the early weeks of January 2025, with Dr. Hontscharuk, out of the Toronto Plastic Surgery clinic, and then I will spend the rest of the month, and leading into February to recover, and then return to work again.

Currently, I am quoted $5800 CAD for the surgery itself, but I am also in need of $1100 to actually book in. The private insurance I have through my job will cover $2000. The remaining $3100 will go towards funding my recovery; which will include paying my rent, my phone bill, groceries, pain medication, gas to cover the trips to and from the clinic in Toronto, as well as general quality of life items.

Having top surgery, or a bilateral mastectomy with chest contouring, will drastically change my life for the better. After recovering, I will be able to return to the gym and enjoy weightlifting again, I will be able to visit my grandparents in Mexico, I will be able to spend time at the beach this summer with my partner and my friends, and most of all, I will be able to continue moving my life forward, no longer hindered by my dysphoria.
