Hi, my name is Maria and I am Parker's mother. On January 24th after several months of trying to figure out what was wrong with them, Parker received a diagnosis. The diagnosis Burkitt's Lymphoma. At only 24 years old Parker has had several battles with their health at around 11 yrs old they were also diagnosed with PKD but for some reason hearing Cancer was not something we were expecting.
Everything moved so fast. They were diagnosed on the 24th and admitted on the 27th for chemotherapy. We are grateful for how fast the Oncology team was able to treatment them but on February 4th, just 9 days after being admitted and receiving their first dose, Parker had emergency surgery. The chemo had worked too well and had caused a perforation and we were being told they were worried Parker was going into sepsis. The trauma team was not reassuring with their outcome but against all odds after almost 26 days in ICU, Parker received their 3rd surgery and finally the trauma team gave us some good news that was much needed. Parker's wounds from surgery were healing. ❤️ While Parker still has a long road ahead of them hearing they were healing was AMAZING especially with a low white blood count.
Our family is not one to ask for help but Parker's medical bills are adding up and they are only halfway with their treatment. We were not prepared for any of this emotionally or financially.
We thank you and advance for your donations.
If you aren't unable to donate we ask you share Parker's story and send all the good vibes, prayers and thoughts our way.
