Dear Friends,

I’m hoping that you might give me a minute to tell you about Reenie Wadman. Reenie went to school with my little brother and lives in my hometown in Newfoundland. Like me, she is a preemie Mom.

Reenie’s sister (Triffie) was one of my sister’s best friends. When she was in her early 20s, in St. John’s, Newfoundland, her long-term boyfriend shot her in the street with a rifle while she was on the phone with 911. He stood over her with the gun while the paramedics watched unable to treat her - she bled out and died. I was in the courtroom when the guilty verdict was read. Reenie adopted Triffie’s daughter and raised her.

Reenie went on to educate herself and gained excellent employment in NL. With her long-term partner, Wade, Reenie became pregnant with Parker. Parker was born extremely premature and, as a result of oxygen deprivation during birth, was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy.

Reenie had two more sons. One of whom died at birth and the other with special needs.

Reenie has endured more than most. Yet, throughout her life she has shown the world nothing but optimism for hope and the world evolving to a much better place. A fierce advocate for domestic violence, women, and children with special needs.

Parker ended his much too short life on earth last week suddenly. He joined his aunt and brother and his long suffering and pain is over.

Reenie has dedicated her life to caring for Parker. Wade is a mechanic in my hometown. Reenie has never once asked for anything from others.

My sister and I have created a GoFundMe site to help offset the costs of Parker’s funeral and to allow Parker's family to have a moment to grieve without the stress of bills and expenses.

If you would consider giving, I would be extremely grateful.

All of the funds will be sent directly to Reenie Wadman to cover expenses. As many of you know, Reenie is a dear friend of mine. I will be transferring all of the funds directly to her bank account via etransfer.
