Hi friends!

Jimmy and Stephanie Lamb, Parker’s parent live in Lemont, IL. This past May, Jimmy and Stephanie found out that their family of three was going to be a family of four! With this amazing news also came the worst news that parents could receive. On May 28, 2021 Parker, soon to be a big brother, went in for, what his parents thought was, a routine surgery to remove a blocked saliva duct in his tongue. However, during surgery it was discovered that he did not have a blocked salvia duct but a large mass in his tongue.

The mass was sent off for biopsy to the Cleveland Clinic. After waiting almost 6 weeks for an official diagnosis, his parents received the devastating news that the mass was malignant: Ewing Sarcoma. Ewing Sarcoma is typically found in the bone and in children over the age of 10. Although what he has is very rare, thank God it is treatable.

After they went for a second opinion at Lurie’s Children’s Hospital in Chicago they knew that was the best place for him to receive his treatment. Dr. Walterhouse is his primary oncologist and Jimmy and Stephanie are confident he has the best soft tissue sarcoma team in the entire Midwest.

Parker began chemotherapy on 7/26 and will continue approximately 36 weeks of chemotherapy. Jimmy and Stephanie, both working in education will be taking intermittent FMLA to be with Parker during and after treatment. This will also coincide with Stephanie’s need for a maternity leave to welcome Baby Lamb #2. And although Jimmy and Stephanie are resistant to taking any monetary support due to the overwhelming love and support they are receiving from family and friends, we have insisted to provide additional support. They will not go through this alone and we want to make life just a little bit easier for them by covering some of the finances due to the lose of pay they will endure, as well as all of the other financial strain.

Jimmy, Stephanie, and Parker sincerely thank you for all of your love and support. Their little guy still has a lot to give to the world, and he’s ready to kick cancer’s butt
