Parker Josephs' Eagle Scout Project

Hello, my name is Parker Josephs, I am 15 years old, working on achieving my Eagle Scout rank. I am a member of Troop 96 out of the War Memorial in Grosse Pointe Farms.

I am fundraising for my Eagle project, which is helping Deo Gratias Ministries (DGM) build an Urban Garden. I plan to build four wooden benches, a birdhouse, and a bird feeder, and do some landscape. I am trying to raise $1,400 for the project. I am looking to finish the fundraising by August. The money will go towards the wood for the benches, the birdhouse/feeder and landscape. Any extra donations will go directly to DGM. The picture highlights the property that we are using and my team has already helped place the flower boxes and fill them all with over 4 cubic feet of topsoil.

The vision of Deo Gratias Ministries Detroit is to nurture a safe, welcoming, faith-inspired community that promotes the dignity of each person and all creation in disadvantaged areas of the city. Its mission is to provide unconditional hospitality to those in need. Our Beneficiary (DGM) believes in the fundamental dignity of each person. This project is helping bring families and the community together while home-growing food.

Our plan is that the outcome of this project will provide nourished fresh foods for the underprivileged community around the area.
