Parker Gotcher - tragic loss
Don protégé
To my dear family, friends and others that I do not personally know,
It is with an extremely heavy heart that I’m writing this letter. My nephew, Parker, has passed away as he was sitting on his porch listening to his beloved music. I had just seen my nephew the week before and although he seemed to be doing better, his drug addiction was still apparent. He had such a sweet kind heart and it is so incredibly heartbreaking to see a young man with so much potential die so young. His family tried every possible way to help him get better, but unfortunately, it wasn’t a quick fix even with the extreme family love and support that could help him. The addiction struggle is so real and it can happen to anyone. It’s times like these that family and friends mean everything. The support, comfort and unconditional love that I’ve experienced and seen by only being here in Tucson for a few days is honestly indescribable. My brother Doug and his family are truly loved. Sometimes God’s plan cannot be understood with our human minds, but if going through this kind of pain brings lasting change then Parker’s death will mean something greater than us. Pain and suffering can also bring healing change in our hearts, minds and souls - that is what we are praying for.
Please consider helping the Gotcher family with funeral costs and some living expenses while they get through this very difficult time.
My brother’s pain from losing his son is so heart wrenching that I can’t begin to describe it with words.
Thanks for your thoughts and prayers,
Parker’s Aunt
