Park to Park for Zachary
My name is Dean Yaffie, and on Saturday 3rd May 2025, I’ll be running from Rouken Glen Park in the southside to Glasgow Green in the East End in memory of my best friend, Zachary Fineman.
The charity I’ve chosen is Papyrus: Prevention of Young Suicide. They do incredible work, helping save young lives every day. Suicide is sadly far too common, and it’s something we need to talk about more. If you’re feeling low, please don’t be afraid to speak up.
On 18th September 2020, at just 23 years old, Zachary lost his life to suicide. That day, something inside me broke, and it’s never fully healed. Not a day or night goes by when I don’t think about him. Losing him has been the most painful thing I’ve ever been through.
For a long time, I wanted to do something in his memory, but I wasn’t ready. Now I feel I am. I want to turn that pain into something positive.
Whatever you're going through, please remember to talk to someone — your friends, your family, the people who care.
My goal is to raise £2,000 for Papyrus. Every donation, big or small, is deeply appreciated.
I still spend time with Zachary’s family. They’ve been incredibly kind and supportive, and I’m forever grateful to them.
Every penny raised will help save a life.
Thank you for supporting this cause.
