Park Bench Dedication for Lauren Fazio

**UPDATE** I have turned off donations for this fundraiser as we not only hit our goal, but exceeded it. I learned that there is another GoFundMe set up for her children's education and every penny above the $500 will be donated to that fundraiser.  It will take 3-5 business days for me to withdraw from this fundraiser so expect it to be donated within that time period. I have received the paperwork with the application for the Park Bench and I will be submitting it as soon as the funds withdraw from GoFundMe. I have also learned that another person is dedicating a tree in her name so both the bench and the tree will be placed in Kingsland Park. This is near her father's house and not too far from the house in which she grew up. Once I have specific details of location within the park and when it will be installed, I will post another update. Hopefully, some time in the summer, when social distancing has been relaxed a bit, we can gather and hold a candlelight dedication ceremony. More details to follow. 

The world has lost a beautiful person. Lauren Vitiello Fazio graduated Nutley High School in 1995 and was beloved by all who knew her.  After she graduated, she stayed in Nutley and raised her two beautiful children Guiliana and Mikey, became a teacher, an advocate and a cancer survivor.  She was a bright light to anyone who knew her. Her smile could light up a room and she always stayed positive no matter what life threw at her.  Most days you could find her at a sporting event, not just cheering on her kids but all the kids out on the field. She even spent her summers teaching our kids in a pre-K program and preparing them to enter school full time. 

A few of our classmates are raising money to dedicate a park bench in Nutley in her name. A calm, beautiful, serene place where her kids, family and friends can gather and remember her. We are working with the Parks Department on the details and all money raised through this fundraiser will go towards that. If we raise more than we need, we will donate the remainder to Relay For Life, an organization that was very personal for Lauren.
