Three years ago, my nephew—Paris Moore’s only son—died a hero, saving his friend from drowning. Paris has carried that unimaginable loss with grace, love, and strength.

Now, tragedy has struck again.

Paris was recently shot in the chest. The bullet fractured her spine, damaged her kidneys, and left her paralyzed from the waist down. She is in critical condition and facing multiple surgeries ahead.
