Paris - Gastroschisis
Donation protected
Paris was born with a birth defect called gastroschisis, where the intestines form on the outside of the body in utero. On her second day of life they cut all but 20 cm of intestines out, which left her with short bowel syndrome, or SBS. As a result, she is unable to gain weight on her own and is dependent on a TPN, which feeds through a central line connected to a tube that sits between the arteries in the heart. Paris is now at a point where she has run out of spots for any more central lines and her only remaining option is to have a 4-organ transplant. Our little angel has hung on longer than the doctors’ estimates thanks to the hard work of her mother and father. Miriam and james are hard workers and rarely get time off to spend with their child. Paris is currently waitlisted for the transplant. Though the support programs have been helpful, they don’t quite meet the needs required for her care. Although her father and mother are grateful, and never seeks a source of help, we as their friends would very much like to offer them a helping hand and ask that you help us help them with any donations you can spare. Regardless of prospects, we remain hopeful.
