Paris Charity Cycle

Donation protected
This summer on the 24th of June, your 6 favourite  Reading garçons are getting out of ends to cycle over 270 miles to Paris to raise money for Mind - the mental health charity.

Approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year and in England, 1 in 6 people report experiencing a common mental health problem (such as anxiety and depression) in any given week. 57 million prescriptions for anti depressants where administered at a cost to the NHS of over £262 million - an increase of over 46% - since 2012. Meanwhile, suicide is the most common cause of death for men aged 20-49 years in England and Wales. This is a fact that should not exist.

Mind provides access to advice and support for those effected by mental health issues and has helped bring about significant improvements to the way mental health is understood and dealt with in the UK.  They're building on change, but they know there is much more to do.

This is why we are asking for your help. We have organised this ride ourselves with the intent of bringing about some positive change. We will also be partnering with Oxon Bikes For Africa; a charity that helps people cycle towards a better future by donating old bikes.

All donations - small or large, petit or grand - will be appreciated.  Get involved now and help us smash our target and bring about some positive change. Who knows, if we get there in one piece we might even send you a postcard.
