Hey friends of Shendrita, Courtney and Paris! We are looking to get some help to support Paris' mom's in paying for her ongoing Cancer treatment.
Paris is a 10-year-old rescue from Montreal that Shendrita has had since five months old. They have been best friends and inseparable ever since. If you know Shendrita and Paris, you know that she doesn't go anywhere without her companion including work and vacations. I have never seen a dog so accommodated for to get the best care and be included in everything.
Due to pre-existing medical histories from her litter, Shendrita was unable to get pet insurance. Paris has lived a wonderful 10 years with the average expenses of a pupp.
Two years ago in October, a lump was discovered that ended up being a cancerous mast cell tumour which could spread so they had it removed. This year in May they discovered a new lump on her Vulva, sadly it was another mast cell tumor that was cancerous and was recommended to be removed. This time with a specialist surgeon because it was in a small and complicated area that was high risk. One month after this surgery, they noticed her lymph nodes under her chin were swollen. When biopsied and tested, along with all her lymph nodes, they came back as T- cell lymphoma cancer.
Without treatment they were told the survival with lymphoma cancer was one to two months. But thankfully they caught it very early and it’s not affecting any of her organs. Along with being overall very healthy she was a great candidate for chemo, however they needed to start right away.
Paris went into remission after one month of chemotherapy, which is really great! Paris needs a total of 6 months of chemotherapy. When using chemotherapy in animals, it doesn’t cure the lymphoma cancer. It essentially suppresses the cancer so it’s undetectable for the time being, leaving pets with none to minimal symptoms but eventually the cancer will come back.

Shendrita and Courtney have spent over $20,000 on chemotherapy treatments and medications relating to her lymphoma cancer diagnosis since she was diagnosed. Paris is now on her last cycle of chemo treatments and will be done in the new year. They had also spent another $8,000 with the two prior surgeries. They chose to save their pupp due to their deep love for Paris but are at the point where they would benefit from some help from loved ones who want to support.
Paris will be needing monthly check ups and bloodwork for the rest of her life so they can stay on top of her lymphoma to be prepared for when it comes back. Unfortunately it will come back, but we might be able to do chemotherapy again or another form of treatment, but that all depends on her health at the time.
Paris has been doing really great overall and in great shape with only some side effects from the chemotherapy. Luckily she’s continuing to live a nice and happy life and doesn’t even know that she’s sick, we’re going to extend it as long as possible to keep her happy.
This is an expensive time of the year with so many important ways to give back to our own communities. If you are able and would like to help out these loving Moms of Paris it would be very appreciated and would go a long way.
Thank you for considering,
