The Statue:
The "I Knew You in the Womb" Bronze Angel statue expresses what words cannot communicate. The statue that depicts an Angel weeping over an empty crib leaves you weak in the knees, takes away your breath, and rips at your heart. It expresses the emotional and physical pain of childhood death, and reveals the heaviness that the grieving feel every day of their lives. It is a symbol of undying love that demonstrates the loss better than words ever could. It needs no explanation, translation, or words.

About the Statue:
The beautiful statue commissioned by Infants Remembered In Silence, Inc. © (IRIS) is the first to be installed West of the Mississippi, the first commissioned by a nonprofit, second to be installed in the USA.
This emotional statue is life size; standing approximately 5 feet tall, 3 feet wide, 6 feet long and weighs approximately 700 pounds. This breathtaking statue was created by Canadian Sculptor Timothy P. Schmalz and placed at the IRIS Office in Faribault, MN.
The value of this statue to grieving parents and loved ones is priceless. Having a place to go in peaceful contemplation or place to leave a note or flower for an absent child is truly beyond any price.
Every child's life has infinite value, whether they die in the womb, soon after birth, or years later. They are forever loved and remembered. Join us as we commemorate the lives of infants and children of every gestation and age.

IRIS was founded in 1987 and is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, that supplements the care given by the medical, mental health, and religious communities by providing resources and referral information, support and education to parents, family, friends, and professionals after a child dies in early pregnancy (ectopic pregnancy, molar pregnancy, miscarriage, etc.) or from stillbirth, neo-natal death, birth defects, sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) and related syndromes, illness, accident, murder, and all other types of infants and early childhood death. IRIS works with 6000 - 7000 each year.
