My name is James, and I’m reaching out during the most painful chapter of my life.

My mom has suffered two cardiac arrests in the past month. Last week, she was moved into hospice care. Her condition is rapidly declining, and I’m doing everything I can to be there for her and make her final days peaceful and dignified.

She and my dad are living in a group home together — their last bit of normalcy. But they’re now struggling to pay the rent, and our resources have run dry. I’ve given all I can financially, but it’s no longer enough to keep them together in the place that has become their home.

This GoFundMe is my way of asking for help so they can spend these final days side-by-side, without the fear of losing their housing or being separated.

Any amount you’re able to give — no matter how small — will go directly toward:

   •   Covering rent at their group home

   •   Basic care needs not covered by insurance

   •   Helping my dad remain near his wife during hospice
