Dear Friends, Family and Generous Hearted,
We pray that this letter finds you in good health and good spirits. In July of 2020 our son, Nikhil, was in a 3 car accident. One of the vehicles involved fled leaving only our son’s car, and the second car involved, on the scene. Although we are grateful that Nikhil and passengers in the second vehicle were not seriously injured, the driver of the second vehicle later passed away. Nikhil was not issued any motor vehicle summons nor charged with any motor vehicle crimes.
Almost three years later, in March of 2023, we shockingly learned that Nikhil was being charged with vehicular manslaughter, despite the known and documented existence of a third vehicle that fled the scene, and that Nikhil maintains caused the accident.
It is critical that Nikhil have the best opportunity to defend against these allegations. The cost of defending this case properly is extremely expensive. Although we have already committed to the initial $50,000 retainer, the fees are continuing to mount due to the need to hire experts and additional court related fees, which will undoubtedly result in costs over $100,000.
Our son is a very giving and honorable young man with a good head on his shoulders. He is an extremely hard working professional that always puts his family and loved ones first. Nikhil is a responsible young man who assists his mother and helps to care for his grandmother. He is not only our pride and joy, but he’s an inspiration to his siblings and many others.
As a result of the aforementioned allegations, Nikhil was released from a lucrative corporate job as a Quantitative Analyst for one of the top 3 international banks. Had he been able to keep this job, which he worked so diligently to achieve, he would have been able to pay for the additional legal fees himself. Nikhil has always been self-sufficient and hard working. He even worked 2-3 jobs to help pay his way through college. Despite this setback, Nikhil has consolidated his expenses and continued to press forward. He took on a job working with a home improvement contractor and has recently obtained a managerial position that pays a fraction of what he was previously earning. As a family, we have pooled our resources together to help Nikhil, but we need your help.
Our sons’s liberty is at stake. So we humbly ask for any financial support you can contribute to help cover these expenses and ensure that Nikhil has the benefit of a highly competent defense. We are grateful for your prayers, support, and any financial assistance you can provide. Peace, love, and blessings to you all.
With Warm Regards and Deep Appreciation,
Natasha and Carlton Branscomb
Nikhil & Grandma Joy
