*********************** UPDATE SEPTEMBER 12, 2020 *************************
Dear Friends,
It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we must inform you that Vadzim passed away the evening of September 9th, 2020, at his home, at the age of 44. He was blessed to have his loving wife Svetlana, and all four of their children, by his side until the end. Vadzim’s funeral was held on September 11th, 2020. Memory Eternal.
While Vadzim’s struggle with brain cancer has ended, the family’s fight has just begun. With Vadzim’s passing, his disability will cease and so will the family’s sole source of income since Svetlana was the primary caretaker of Vadzim and their children. They need our support now more than ever. We will be organizing a new campaign in the coming days. In the mean time, this campaign will continue to operate and we urge everyone to please consider donating to help offset Vadzim’s funeral expenses and to provide the family with a lifeline during this extraordinarily difficult time.
God Bless

About the Cause
This is a tragic story of a young Christian family in Parma, Ohio with four children, in which the father has been diagnosed with brain cancer and mother has recently been diagnosed with a progressive autoimmune disease. The family is desperately needing help so they could have a fighting chance at prolonging their life and continuing to raise their young children.

The History
In early 2015, the father of the family, Vadzim, suffered a series of excruciating headaches which lasted for several months undiagnosed, until a scan revealed a tumor in his brain. A biopsy was performed and Vadzim was diagnosed with stage 2 Astrocytoma Glioblastoma brain cancer, located in a difficult-to-reach area of his brain. At that time, his wife Sviatlana was taking care of their two small children full-time while being nine months pregnant with their third. Vadzim was immediately admitted into hospital where he underwent a surgery, which resulted in a partial removal of the tumor, with the goal of treating the rest with radiation and oral chemotherapy. Overwhelmed with devastation and uncertainty for the future, Sviatlana gave birth to a beautiful baby girl shortly after Vadzim’s operation.
The months that followed were very challenging for the family. Vadzim had to go on disability while undergoing multiple rounds of chemotherapy and rehabilitation. He also started having frequent seizures, all while Svitlana was nursing, taking care of toddlers, her husband and the household. Vadzim was responding well to the treatment and was ultimately able to return to school to become a biomedical technician.
In 2017, while pregnant with their fourth child, Sviatlana’s health began to noticeably deteriorate. She started experiencing severe rash on her lips and inside her mouth. With doctors unable to properly diagnose the condition and in lieu of limited available treatment options during pregnancy, the rash gradually spread. By the end of her pregnancy term, Sviatlana’s entire body was covered with open wounds and lesions. Sviatlana visited many doctors and specialists, but the condition remained undiagnosed. Meanwhile, it was painful for her to eat, talk, and sleep, let alone nurse their newborn daughter and continue taking care of the family. It was not until Spring of 2019 when the right test and biopsy revealed that she was suffering from an aggressive form of Pemphigus Vulgaris, a rare life-threatening auto-immune disease in which the body is attacking its own skin and mucous membranes. There is no cure, and the only course of treatment is to perpetually take medication that suppresses the immune system. Sviatlana was immediately placed on a massive dose of immuno-suppressants. Sviatlana’s lesions have now began to show signs of improvement, but her overall health has deteriorated from side effects to appoint where it is exceptionally difficult for her to continue taking care of her four children, and we are very fearful for her well-being and concerned with medical outcome associated with her present standard of care.
At the same time, Vadzim’s headaches returned, and in May of 2019, his MRI scan revealed a growing tumor in two regions of his brain, including in an area responsible for short-term memory. This is very unusual because in 90% of these cases the tumor only appears in one region. The doctor immediately ordered chemotherapy, and after finishing the first chemo session, one of the tumors stopped and decreased in size, while the other remained unchanged. Vadzim has now been placed on a different chemotherapy regimen, administered under direct supervision of doctors. Unfortunately, his latest MRI showed that the tumor still has not responded to treatment. Furthermore, Vadzim began experiencing frequent memory lapses, suffered substantial cognitive decline, and is no longer able to work.
How Funds Will Be Used
Vadzim is currently being paid a modest disability which barely covers family necessities and is not sufficient to offset family's medical expenses. Sviatlana, due to her declining overall health and demanding responsibilities as a mother of four and a wife of a disabled husband, is also unable to work. We have found a good group of doctors who work independently in the functional medicine department outside of the Cleveland Clinic with an amazing track record of incredible medical outcomes. While we remain hopeful, the methods and tests this group uses are not covered by the insurance, are very expensive, and must be paid out-of-pocket.
This family desperately needs financial support to help offset significant ongoing living and medical expenses and the upcoming functional therapy treatments, which we believe will provide a lifeline and a fighting chance for mom and dad to overcome their life-threatening illnesses.
About the Team
We are a committed group of close friends and relatives who are taking active steps to help the Klimovich family at this difficult time, but we cannot do it alone. We urge everyone reading this campaign to help in any way possible. All donations, prayers and words of encouragement will mean a world of difference. As will a simple act of sharing a link to this campaign on social media. All proceeds from this campaign shall be withdrawn by the campaign organizer Alexander Sammons, a close friend of the family, and transferred directly to Svetlana Klimovich on a weekly basis. We thank you all in advance and may the Lord reward your kindness and generosity a hundred-fold.
