Hi my name is Leigh and i would like to raise money for a bereaved parents support group in Corby called Parents of Angels and the charity CRY Cardiac Risk in the Young. The reason is because I tragically lost my son Peter who suffered a sudden fatal heart attack aged just 31. The support group Parents of Angels has been a tremendous support to me in my darkest times and the charity CRY is a charity which helps to prevent young sudden cardiac deaths by promoting awareness, conducting screenings, and supporting affected families. I wanted to do something in memory of Peter and he always wanted to follow in his Grandads footsteps by cycling from Dundee to Corby for Charity. Whilst i am not actually going to cycle from Dundee to Corby my challenge will be to cycle the distance on a peloton bike. The distance is 631km which strangely connects to Peter, as he was born in the 6th month (June) and was 31 when he passed away 631. Also for a beginner on an exercise bike the average time to cycle 10km is 30 mins so to complete 631km works out at just over 31 hours. I intend to complete the 631km in 31 hours over a maximum period of 12 weeks. This might not sound like much of a challenge to some but currently the only time i touch my peloton bike is to take the dust of it!!! I will donate any money raised equally between Parents of angels and Cardiac Risk in the Young, to give something back to people who have supported me so much and to help keep the group going and to support a charity that helps to prevent young lives being lost to cardiac issues. I am going to start this challenge in February as i am gong to have a few sessions on the bike to "warm up".
