Hello our names are Aaron Smith & Jessica Cramer-Smith… We are trying to raise funds to help with our little mans recovery and upcoming expenses.
My husband & I noticed for a few months that little Aaron our son 4 years old has not been himself health wise running fevers at night, complaining about his stomach, puking and over all not in good health…
On February 28th 2024 Little Aaron was not himself at all that day…. No energy just laying down not doing a lot… later that day our oldest daughter said that she thought that her brother Aaron was very hot. I went upstairs to help our two oldest girls get ready for bed for school the next day… My husband stayed with Little Aaron… When I came back downstairs Aaron(dad) said that we had to go that Little Aaron was running a fever of 104 we went right to the ORILLIA hospital where they did a little bit of bloodwork & got his fever down. We stayed for a few hours and then doctor sent us home but said we could come back if anything else happened or fever spiked again.
At about 4 AM in the morning our little man had his first seizure ever with a very high fever the seizure lasted 3 to 5 minutes. We rushed him into the hospital again where doctors and nurses did a lot of bloodwork , IV, ultrasound and a few other testing. At this point they were checking for appendicitis… after seeing three doctors and one paediatrician we were told that they believe that our little man is having early signs of Crohn’s disease our hearts dropped. We stayed there for the night and into the next day they let us go home. Told us if anything else happened. Feel free to come back or call... The emerge nurse & Doctor informed my husband & I that our family doctor and the paediatrician will follow up with us Monday morning. That they wanted to do more testing and a few other things.
We are not new to being parents we have seven children and one on the way we usually do not take our kids to the hospital unless absolutely needed and we try our best to work things out at home with the help of my mother-in-law and sister-in-law, which are both nurses but this time we knew something was different. We are very thankful that we took little Aaron in, even though the news was not the best… we finally got some answers about our little man.
We will be having quite a few appointments coming up also a few in Toronto
We also have to change little man’s diet which can be a costly as well
My husband had to take time off work and is honestly afraid of going to sleep now or doing anything without our son because he is so worried about our little man which is causing him a lot of stress. This little man is his world and he is so afraid right now. With him having to take time off work, it has put a financial damper on us and we were hoping to get a little bit of help to ease some of the stress.
Anything will help even if just a share on your Facebook with family and friends
Feel free to message if you have any questions privately. We will answer the best we can but some things are private.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this we appreciate any help at this time
UPDATE:
Thank you so much everyone that keeps sharing and for the donations as well it’s really appreciated
A little bit of an update on our little guy
He still has quite a bit of cramping in his stomach
was complaining about a headache the past few days
A lot of fevers
Still puking
Nights seem to be his worst right now
And still lacking the energy and appetite
We are hoping to get more answers once we see a few more doctors and his paediatrician
