Parents' Medical Struggles Need Your Help

We are at a crossroads with my parents where they have reached a time in their lives where they need help. Mom has Alzheimer’s and Dementia and Dad has kidney cancer and a very serious autoimmune disorder as well as diabetes and heart disease. My dad’s doctors had to make a choice on which disease to treat, so they focused on the cancer. Although the chemo and radiation didn’t kill the cancer, it did stop it from growing. The cancer has entered the aorta, and if it grows any bigger, his heart will stop. By treating the cancer and not the autoimmune disorder, his body started rejecting and fighting against itself, and the disease went wild, causing huge blisters all over his body. The ones on his left leg got totally infected, and they did wound care on them, but somehow they developed maggots, and my dad had millions of maggots coming out of his leg. This was so scary. We have him back in the hospital, and they removed 9/16 of an inch of tissue from his calf (knee to ankle) and we are fighting to save his leg right now. He also has cellulitis on the other leg and can’t bare any weight right now so he can’t even stand at this point. He also has a very rare germ in his body that is very hard to treat. On top of all that, he has diabetes, heart disease, and is really struggling and in excruciating pain. All this change has my mom in a confused state. They are really struggling physically, emotionally, mentally, and financially. We are asking for help for medical procedures we need to get my dad back to MD Anderson, and they are recommending rehabilitation, but his copay is very high. They are on a limited budget, and we have all exhausted our financial efforts at this point. We need help to save and help our parents. We have a lot of faith as a family, and we are just at that point where we need to ask for help.
