Hi, my name is Jenny, and I’m fundraising for my beautiful mom—a loving, strong, and selfless woman whose life was turned upside down by a tragic accident.

Two and a half years ago, my mom had a severe fall that left her paralyzed from the neck down. She went from walking, cooking for her five kids, and caring for our home—to now being completely bedridden, unable to move her arms or legs, and unable to even eat on her own.

She is a quadriplegic with no insurance. And her condition is getting worse.

For over two years, we’ve fought every day to keep her stable. But we’re now at a breaking point.

Her Health Is Declining

Because she is stuck in bed 24/7 without consistent physical therapy or specialized care, she’s developed severe pressure sores. Most recently, she was hospitalized for sepsis—a life-threatening infection that nearly took her from us. She’s been in and out of hospitals, often without the care she truly needs to heal.

We’ve exhausted every resource. The bills are unbearable, and we’re running out of options.

She has five children—and the youngest is just 9 years old, still needing her mom more than ever.

URGENT UPDATE

Just this month, my mom was discharged from the hospital not because she was stable—but because we couldn’t afford to keep her in the long-term care facility she desperately needed.

She had just been treated for sepsis, a dangerous infection caused by pressure sores from being in bed for too long without proper medical support. But with no insurance, she was sent home to us with no nurse, no equipment, and no way to safely care for her.

We’re doing everything we can as a family, but we’re exhausted and heartbroken. My mom is in pain, her condition is critical, and we don’t know how long we can keep going without help.

What We Need

We’re raising funds to get our mom into a long-term rehab center where she can receive the consistent, expert care she desperately needs. With proper physical therapy and medical support, there’s a real chance she could regain some mobility — maybe even walk again one day.

Right now, she’s stuck in bed 24/7, suffering from pressure sores and constant pain because we can’t afford the care she needs. Since she can’t move her body at all, her lungs have weakened, and she now needs constant oxygen just to stay alive. She’s in and out of the hospital with life-threatening infections — and all of it could be preventable with the right care. Your donation will go toward:

    •    Daily physical and occupational therapy

    •    Medical equipment and supplies

    •    Transportation to medical appointments

    •    Help at home for her five children

Hola, mi nombre es Jenny y estoy recaudando fondos para mi hermosa mamá—una mujer amorosa, fuerte y desinteresada cuya vida fue completamente transformada por un trágico accidente. Hace dos años y medio, mi mamá sufrió una fuerte caída que la dejó paralizada del cuello hacia abajo. Pasó de caminar, cocinar para sus cinco hijos y cuidar de nuestro hogar—a estar completamente postrada en cama, sin poder mover los brazos ni las piernas, y sin siquiera poder alimentarse por sí sola. Ella es cuadripléjica y no tiene seguro médico. Y su condición está empeorando. Durante más de dos años, hemos luchado todos los días para mantenerla estable. Pero ahora estamos en un punto crítico. Su salud está empeorando Como está en cama las 24 horas del día, sin terapia física constante ni atención especializada, ha desarrollado llagas por presión muy graves. Recientemente fue hospitalizada por sepsis—una infección potencialmente mortal que casi nos la quita.  URGENTE Este mismo mes, mi mamá fue dada de alta del hospital no porque estuviera estable—sino porque no podíamos pagar el centro de cuidado a largo plazo que tanto necesitaba. Acababa de ser tratada por sepsis, una infección peligrosa causada por las llagas que tiene por estar tanto tiempo en cama sin el apoyo médico adecuado. Pero al no tener seguro médico, fue enviada de regreso a casa sin enfermera, sin equipo médico, y sin forma de cuidarla de manera segura. Estamos haciendo todo lo posible como familia, pero estamos agotados y con el corazón roto. Mi mamá tiene dolor, su condición es crítica, y no sabemos cuánto más podremos resistir sin ayuda. 

 Lo que necesitamos Estamos recaudando fondos para poder llevar a nuestra mamá a un centro de rehabilitación a largo plazo donde pueda recibir la atención experta y constante que tanto necesita. Con la terapia física y el apoyo médico adecuados, hay una verdadera posibilidad de que recupere algo de movilidad — incluso, con fe, caminar algún día. Ahora mismo está postrada en cama todo el día, sufriendo por las llagas y el dolor constante porque no podemos pagar la atención que necesita. Como no puede mover su cuerpo en absoluto, sus pulmones se han debilitado, y ahora necesita oxígeno constante para mantenerse con vida. Entra y sale del hospital por infecciones graves — y todo esto podría prevenirse con la atención adecuada.
