Paralyzed at 16, Amputated at 20. Fighting with a Smile!
Donation protected
My name is Michael, and when I was 16, I was shot at 21 times. I survived, but one bullet changed my life forever it left me paralyzed from the chest down.
I’ve been fighting ever since. In the four years since then, I’ve learned how to adapt to life in a wheelchair. I even learned how to drive and found ways to stay independent. My spirits have stayed high, and I’ve made it my mission to be the one who lifts my family up to be the light in dark times.
But recently, I’ve been facing my hardest battle yet.
Just this past month, I became homeless. On top of that, I had both of my legs amputated due to a severe bone infection. I'm only 20 years old, and while I still carry the same joy and hope I always have, I now need help.
I have Medicaid and a home health nurse for my medical needs — but I don’t have a safe place to live. What I need most right now is:
A wheelchair-accessible, stable home
Essentials like clothes, hygiene products, and food
Support to regain my independence and rebuild my future
If you can give, share, or simply pray it means everything to me. I’ve always tried to be the one that uplifts others. Now, I’m asking for a little help to keep going.
With gratitude,
Michael
