This is Darcy — a 15-year-old dog with a gentle soul, a stubborn streak, and a heart full of quiet love. And this is Megan, her person — her safe place, her best friend, and her constant companion for the last 4–5 years.

Yesterday, something devastating happened. Darcy fell from the second-story window of our apartment. It was sudden, shocking, and terrifying.

We rushed her to the vet, hoping for the best. Thankfully, there were no broken bones, but Darcy has suffered a serious spinal injury — and now has no movement in her back legs.

The vet suspects damage to her spinal cord, but we won’t know how severe it is — or what options she has — until she gets a full neurological assessment and imaging.

The good news? Darcy is still here. Still alert. Still trying to move. She cries out in discomfort sometimes, which tells us she's feeling something — and still fighting.

We’re trying to raise €1,700 to cover:

Urgent vet bills

Diagnostic imaging (X-rays, possible MRI)

Pain management

Neurology consult and any initial treatment
