Paralysed Dachshund needs medical support

Firstly, let me tell you about the small but mighty Stanley the Dachshund

-He’s a 6 year old working therapy dog who has not only saved my life, but others around him especially with the elderly and mentally ill.
-He is 4th grade obedience and the first dachshund in the club to get that far. My fridge is covered in his awards and trophies.
-His temperament is kind, loving and loyal. He’s patient with kids and puppies.
-He’s a little bit posh and doesn’t like getting his paws too dirty and will avoid mud. He sleeps in bed with the humans too.
-He loves the ocean and will occasionally jump in for a dip.
-He loves his weekly baths and showers. I have to be careful he doesn’t fall asleep in the warm water, so he just closes his eyes and smiles while getting his scrubbies.
-He’s a picky eater and probably more judgemental than gorden ramsay.
⁃ He sings to the guitar
⁃ He was all I had for a long time. I don’t know what I’d do without him. He is my pride and joy.
-He’s scared of thunder, fireworks and farts.
⁃ His girlfriend is a ginger cat next door and they love each other dearly.
There is so much more about this little dog, it could go on for pages and pages.
This little life-saving, working dog needs our help and we are kindly reaching out to anybody who has it in their heart to help us through this absolute tragedy.
I’m heart broken. I’ll stop at nothing to get him better. I know we’re in for months or years of specialised therapy, but since he’s saved so many lives, it’s time he needs help and I’m not giving up on him ever. He is too young for this.

Now you know a bit about Stanley, here we go:

Hi, my name is Tali and my little chocolate sausage dog, Stanley . A week ago Stanley woke up paralysed and I had 48 hours to decide on open spinal surgery which was roughly 7k for surgery and 3k for just the beginning of physio and recovery, so the actual cost is a lot more than advertised on here. They said the longer I left it, the more unlikely he’ll ever walk again (it was a public holiday too).

Stanley will be facing months of physio and hydrotherapy as I am determined to get him walking again. Specialised therapy like this is well known to be available only to those who can afford it and the medical bills keep piling up. Stanley is determined to walk again too. He's full of life and I will not let this be a death sentence or life sentence for him, especially not after all of the people he has helped. Hopefully I can get him into it.

I’m a student and don’t have large sum of cash to put into this kind of pet therapy, especially in this economy (and I was ironically about to get pet insurance). As many know, veterinarians are extremely expensive. Which is why I’m kindly asking my fellow humans everywhere to donate, send love and share the word for my little man.

Pray for us.

Tali
