This fundraiser is to help us fund an Irish Para-rowing team program. The aim of this program is to qualify boats for the 2024 Paralympic Games.

Currently we have a few talented athletes who are at world standard but there is no funding or program setup to support them on achieving this goal.

One of these athletes is Katie O’Brien of Galway Rowing Club (GRC), who won a bronze medal at the last world championships, held back in 2019. She recently broke a 2000m world record on the indoor rowing machine.

Galway Rowing Club have supported Katie and para-rowing as a whole over the last number of years, and are again backing her, para rower Steven McGowan of GRC, and other para athletes on this journey to Paris 2024.

The money we raise for the Paralympic rowing program will go towards coaching, the necessary equipment, training camps at home and abroad, new athlete talent ID, and international competitions.
Your support is hugely appreciated, and every little bit makes a big difference.
Thank you all!
