Paralized man wants movement again

Hello,
I'm trying to raise the funding for a treatment that I have been waiting 38 years for. Here's my story.
A little over 38 years ago I dove from a boat and broke my neck in the shallow water. I was rescued by my Mother who has been helping me ever since. I was flown to a hospital emergency room where holes were drilled in my head for a clamp to hold me in traction. Nine months later I was released from a rehabilitation center to fend for myself as a spinal cord injured quadriplegic. Movement was very limited and my sensory perceptions went wild. I thought the pain was severe then. Little did I know. Over the years the pain that I live with daily far exceeds anything I could have imagined. That and the lack of mobility greatly limited my life.
I struggled through as did my family. Thrice my family was told that I was going to die. I didn't! Certainly a good thing no one told me I was supposed to. I have pursued many different fixes. None have worked. I have followed the research on repairing the spinal cord to no avail. I was promised several times that the cure was just 10 years away. And again and again.
I am currently living in a veterans nursing home. Only veterans can live here. I served my time during the Vietnam War in which the only wound I received was a broken jaw. In retrospect no big deal. Seven years after discharge I had my accident that left me paralyzed and in perpetual pain. I felt that my life had been taken from me.
Today research has come a long way. Currently the utilization of what is called stem cells taken from my own fatty tissue and inserted into my spinal cord has become available. I found the National Stem Cell Institute in Clearwater Florida. A two hour trip from where I live in a specialized wheelchair transport van. This I must pay for out-of-pocket. I must also pay for bloodwork to be done prior to my surgery. The treatment itself is also quite expensive and needed by November 6, 2018 the day of my treatment.
Three years ago my last hired care provider deserted me while I was in a coma and stole $38,000 from me. All of my money now goes to pay for my keep and care in the nursing home with a little left for incidentals. The short of it is I need money to pursue my dream. To be pain-free and move my fingers, and perhaps play a flute again.
Make sure I am legitimate here is the information where the surgery will be performed:
