Grandma's Resting Place Fund

On March 28, 2015, heaven gained an angel named Leopoldina, known to me and her twenty one other grandchildren, as Abuela Leo. Abuela Leo will always be honored as the intelligent, passionate, and incredibly strong woman she was. My grandmother not only instilled in her own children and grandchildren, the great importance of education, but she demonstrated a life worth living. She had a fine taste for poetry, bolero, and cookies that often disappeared while she napped, thanks to Alicia and I. Thanks to her and my grandfather's "travel bug," many of her grandchildren now live throughout the United States and Europe, as well as in our native Paraguay. Despite my grandmother's affinity for travel, her last wish was that she be taken home to Paraguay. With great appreciation for the lessons, jokes, and experiences Abuela Leo provided for us, and in honor of her request to go home, my family will lay my Abuela Leo to rest in beautiful Paraguay. Friends, you are invited to join my family on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., and again from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., at the Somerville Funeral Home at 10 West End Avenue, to celebrate Abuela Leo before she heads home. Because of the enormous expenses associated with sending my grandmother home, my family and I would greatly appreciate any donation to these expenses, in lieu of flowers. Many thanks for your thoughts and prayers for my family.
