Our beloved parents, Jesus and Prudy Martinez, moved to Paradise/Magalia over 32 years ago to provide a home for their young and growing family. In each of those 32 years, they have built a home of honor, generosity, and love for each of their four children, as well as their dear friends and community members. From the soccer field and basketball court to the delicious food and holiday decorations, this home, that our parents made for us all, was one of celebration, friendliness, and creativity.
Last Sunday, we learned that our parents lost their home. It stunned each of us, as we had never seen anyone care for, love and respect a home and its offerings as they did. It was their little nest on the ridge. We are grateful that they were able to safely evacuate from Paradise/Magalia and then evacuate a second time from Chico. When fleeing their home, they only had minutes to save a few of their belongings and their pets. Unfortunately, the small amount of luggage they took is all that they have left. Our hope is to support them in this difficult time and to help them move forward in recreating that home with as much ease as possible.
We would like to thank our family and friends for the concern and generosity already offered and provided. We pray for our parents and our entire town that have lost and suffered so much. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your kindness and, most of all, your love.
With all our hearts,
Lisa, Paul, Jesus Jr., and Rosa
