Tim Ryan - age 24...
In July of 2017, Tim moved from Florida to California to accept a job offer as well as other opportunities in refurbishing classic cars and flipping investment properties. Since mid-2017 he had managed to get his feet back under him from a few years of less than stellar jobs, pay, and overall struggling to make ends meet. He settled in to Paradise, CA where he has been working hard to put some money in the bank and open his own small garage for car restoration. Since being there he has acquired a truck, welder, and many other tools for both working on cars as well as woodworking and carpentry.
On November 8th, Camp Fire in Paradise, CA took almost all that progress and property away from him. The fire moved so quickly there was barely time to run - never mind bring anything with him. He lost his home, truck, dirt bike, welder, a huge collection of woodworking tools, and most of his personal belongings like clothing etc.
When asked if he would be ok with his family setting up a Go Fund Me page to help him out...this was his reply, "Normally I’d say no, but I actually read something early this morning that compels me to accept the offer and allow others to help. I had thousands invested in those tools. I hate to even think about how much. But I could use the extra money to buy rain gear, personal protective equipment, a chainsaw, boots, a hard hat, chainsaw chaps, etc. At this point I have pledged assistance to a lot of people in my neighborhood and I could use some help helping them."
I could use some help helping them. That sums up where Tim's heart is at right now.
Tim has decided to stay in the Paradise area and is eager to help his community that he has come to love over the last year and a half rebuild and stand strong.
As you can see from his reply, the immediate need is the tools and gears needed to get back into the neighborhood and start clearing trees, cleaning up, and salvaging what they can. He has also expressed that he lost every bit of his winter weight clothing and with the rainy, chilly season now upon them that is also an immediate need.
