Fire Victims-Bruce & Sarah Yerman

Donation protected

On November 8th, a devastating fire named #Campfire exploded in size in Northern California. When my mom left for work that morning around 6 a.m. there was no indication that a fire was burning nearby. She later learned that Paradise City schools were being cancelled, which was her hint that something serious was going on. By the time she got back home around 9:00 a.m. the air was thick with smoke and ashes were falling everywhere. With only minutes to spare, my parents Bruce and Sarah grabbed some clothes, sentimental art created by their daughters, got the pets, and attached a tent trailer to the car to escape Paradise.

Reports indicated that the fire began expanding at a rate of 80 acres per minute. With wind gusts at 30 miles an hour, and extremely dry conditions the fire reached the city within minutes.

Paradise has been completely consumed by the fire, including my parent's home.  My parents and other family members have lost everything. This includes family pictures, our journals, (possibly) my grandfathers olympic gold medal, memories from our lives in Mexico, New Zealand, and countless other possessions. Their home was a reflection of the cultures they loved, which surrounded them with irreplaceable memories. Fortunately, they are safe but it is going to be an uphill battle for the next couple of months as they figure out where to go and what to do. Donations will help them restart their lives. It will help them get basic things such as pots and pans, clothes, and bath towels. It will also help them continue to pay the mortgage on their home, which is now gone.  My parents will be given direct access to the donations.

Our hearts are broken as we receive updates of these devastating fires. We can't yet confirm what is left of the town and the home, but we have a thread of hope that parts of our parent's home remains. Even if their house happens to be spared, the smoke and ash is sure to have caused incredible damage. Donations will help them with repairs if necessary. Please consider giving to this cause. If you can't, please share this with your friends and family.  My parents did not ask us to set up a Go Fund Me for them but as their five daughters, we are hoping to help them in any way we can.

Love,

Mika (California), Maya (Mexico), Elyse (California), Indi (Idaho), and Anahi (Utah). Bruce and Sarah's Daughters.
