On the morning of November 8th, 2018 the Nolans smelled a brush fire. They began hooking up their trailer and preparing just in case of an evacuation order. Within minutes, strong winds blew burning embers across the entire sky, and it was clear that they needed to get out!
They rushed to gather their dogs, cat, and rabbits, hurried them into the trailer and left their home with only a change of clothes and their medications. Their high school son, Ian followed behind them, but it was quickly evident that the roads were gridlocked. They sat, with the entire population of their town, on traffic blocked roads, with the fires burning on either side of the highway they were on. Ian was forced to abandon the car he was driving and join his parents in their vehicle for safety's sake.
After terrifying hours of evacuating to safety, the watched news footage in horror as their beloved town and home burned.
Tanya is a nurse midwife. She is loved by her patients and all who know her. She is a wonderful mother and grandmother. She is an animal lover. David is a selfless, giving, wonderful man. He is charitable with all he has. He serves in the local church and is a wonderful father and grandfather. Their youngest son Ian is a local high school baseball star.
The devastation of losing everything is unfathomable. The news this morning that their home was lost has hit everyone hard. Tanya and David have so many friends outside of their home in Paradise.... I just wanted to give them all a way to help if they can.
I know that there are many hard days and weeks ahead for the Nolans, but I know that they have an amazing support system who will do anything possible to help.
Please give if you can, to assist with their current needs of displacement and loss of everything they own. All donstions will be accessible only to the Nolan family.
