Paradise ca, camp fire victims

On Thursday, 11/8/18, Paloma Godinez Hernandez received a call from her childrens’ school stating that she needed to pick up her kids and evacuate immediately due to the quickly spreading Camp Fire.  Paloma only had time to grab her two cats on the way out the door to the school, thus she and her three children escaped to Chico, CA with only the clothes they had on. The Torres Godinez’ rental home burned to the ground.  They did not have renters’ insurance and Adrian Torres is now unemployed as the business he worked for also burned to the ground. The family had lived in Paradise for 6 years and it is the only home their three small children know.  They are still able to attend the Paradise Achieve Charter School in a temporary location, and hope to return to live in Paradise someday in the future when homes and the school are rebuilt. For now they are living in a hotel and looking for a two bedroom apartment or house to rent.  They need our help to get a new start. El jueves 11/8/18, Paloma Godinez Hernandez recibió una llamada de la escuela primaria de sus hijos indicando que tenía que recoger a sus hijos y evacuar inmediatamente debido a que el incendio del campamento se extendió rápidamente en su dirección.  Paloma solo tuvo tiempo para agarrar a sus dos gatos a salir de la casa para recoger a sus tres hijos y evacuar a Chico. Se escaparon con solamente la ropa que tenían puesta. La casa que rentaban los Torres Godinez se quemó completamente. No tenían seguros para ayudar con los gastos de reemplazar todas sus cosas y Adrian Torres ya no tiene empleo porque el negocio donde trabajaba se quemó también.  La familia vivía 6 años en Paradise y es el único hogar que conocen los niños. Los niños todavía pueden asistir a su escuela Achieve Charter School como la abrieron en un local temporal, y la familia espera volver a vivir en Paradise algún día en el futuro cuando se construyan nuevamente las casas y la escuela. Por ahora viven en un hotel y buscan un departamento o casa con 2 dormitorios para rentar.  Esta familia necesita nuestra ayuda para empezar de nuevo.
