Para Nuestra Mariposa

This past Friday night on December 17, 2021, our family lost the biggest light of our lives. Our mother Elizabeth or as many knew her, “Eli”, had a heart larger than the sun with a warm rich personality full of life. She touched the lives of everyone she met, a pillar of the community going out of her way to be personal, comforting and supportive. The hundreds of sympathetic messages that our family has received is a testament to the way she lived her life treating others the way she wished to be treated. Even on her worst days she didn’t complain and always had a smile on her face. She was a loving mother who worked tirelessly through impossibly difficult situations to support her family.

3 months ago, our mother suffered a heart attack. We found out that she had a damaged heart valve along with multiple clogged arteries. Against unbelievable odds, she recovered back onto her feet, but still needed major heart surgery. She was eventually successfully discharged home, with a professional homecare nurse to help gather strength, until it was time for her surgery appointment date. Unfortunately and abruptly, our mother began suffering chest pains again only to be readmitted back into the hospital emergency room for another month. She would continue to persevere even through liver and kidney failure, but this time it proved to be too much for her. She spent her last day with her family by her side, praising and comforting her to her last breath. She leaves behind a husband, two daughters, a sonand a grandchild.

As we mourn her untimely passing, we are extending to our friends and family the opportunity to join us with expressions of love and support, during this unbearably difficult time. These donations will go towards our mother’s funeral expenses.
