Hola, me llamo Ana Jaimes, vivo en Phoenix, Arizona. Actualmente estoy en tratamiento oncológico activo, recibiendo quimioterapias. Fui diagnosticada con invasive ductal carcinoma of the breast, female left.
Hello, my name is Ana Jaimes, I live in Phoenix, Arizona. I am currently in active oncological treatment, receiving chemotherapy. I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma of the breast, female left. In the genetic test I was positive for the BRCA2 gene. In addition, the cancer was found to be metastatic, compatible with primary breast cancer. I also discovered, thanks to the studies carried out, that I was born with a single kidney. What makes me a high-risk patient. Since I received the diagnosis in April of this year, my life has completely changed. I'm not the same as before. I can't work full time; only part-time, three times a week. My income has been greatly reduced and I barely have enough to pay the hospital co-payments, since I do not have health insurance. This is very important to me because, having a positive gene, both breasts must be removed, and I know that this operation is very expensive. Unfortunately, I don't have the financial resources. Even so, I try to be brave and stay like a warrior. This disease is very strong and its consequences are horrible; I don't wish it on anyone. I'm being treated at the Valleywise hospital. This cause is important to me because it is about my life. I am a very active woman and, unfortunately, this has changed my life, and not for good for my health. But I know it's a process that I must face to heal. Thank you to the people who take a moment to learn about my story, and thank you for your excellent work. May God pay them for what they do.
