On behalf of Danielys and Michael we invite you to partake in this fundraiser for the memorial of Michaels father Nelson Briones. My name is Michael Briones and for the last 6 months my family and I have been battling so many odds to help my father recover from a stroke he had on June 30th, ever since this incident happened it was a pain seeing my father hooked up to a machine that only kept him alive temporarily or at least that’s what the doctors had told us, but even after all that me and my family decided that wouldn’t be the end for my dad and we would want him to have a fighting chance as it was his right as well. During these months we managed to get my dad out of a hospital that gave us no hope of survival to a medical center and finally to a rehabilitation center in which he would partake in getting himself back on his feet, the journey wasn’t easy as my dad suffered a severe stroke that left him unable to speak properly and paralyzed from almost his entire right side body, but that didn’t stop us and neither did it stop him. My mother throughout all this took care of my dad and made sure that at every hospital he was at they did everything they could for his best care, she left her job as she knew that if there was someone that could help with his rehabilitation it would be her, she sacrificed so much for him even after everything they’ve been through as my mom and dad weren’t together anymore and my mom is remarried she still stuck by my dads side until the end without questioning it once. My mom had to spend full days and nights at different hospitals and rehabilitation centers in order to make sure my dad was in the best care as I’m some cases because of the negligence of certain staff my dad was left uncared for which broke my mom mentally as she wasn’t sure what to do at times, yet she didn’t give up and neither did he or any of us. After a while my dad was finally responsive and even tho he wasn’t at his best he was still with us and one way or another he was happy, I owe all that to my mom because she was able to bring that happiness back to me and my sister, and when my dad finally came home it was one of the best feelings a person could ever have but nothing would ever prepare me for the day my dad had to go back to into the hospital because of a complaint on his stomach. The day after he entered that hospital I saw him and with a smile he looked at me and I only thought things would be okay looking forward, but as the days went by the staff didn’t allow my mom to be there by his side and only kept making excuses on why he should stay, until they determined he had many difficulties in his system to be let go. We fought long and hard to try to transfer my dad out of there, as every day when we kept visiting he only looked worse until the point where he no longer recognized us, it was heartbreaking seeing by dad smiling at me one day and the next seeing him with a machine to help him breath. My dad was a beautiful soul and he never deserved anything that happened to him, he was also a warrior as he fought strong and hard to recover always looking better and better before entering that hospital. On December 3rd, 2023 me and my sister decided that we didn’t want my dad on that breathing machine anymore as he only seemed in pain and those doctors only kept injecting him with antibiotics without giving us fully reasons on why, we didn’t want him to suffer anymore as he was no longer the same as he was when he first got in. We told the doctors to remove the intubation as we wanted my dad to finally be able to rest and not suffer anymore and about 7:40 pm he gave his final breath and passed next to my sister my mom and I, my beautiful angel was finally at peace and he was no longer suffering. My family and I are truly heartbroken from the passing of my beautiful angel as he was never a bad father, person, brother, my dad was always a kind souls a beautiful one to say it all, and no matter where he was or who he was with he only wanted good, always friendly and always coming up with some good jokes, that’s who my dad was and now he’s beautiful angle that will look out for me and my family until we meet again.
I hope anyone that comes across this can help my family and I for the funeral expenses, I only ask to whoever donates please to do it from their heart as I know my dad would’ve want it that way, and no matter the amount it is me and my family will be always be thankful.
