On August 4, 2020 my Dad was diagnosed with GBM, a fast growing and aggressive form of brain cancer. A few days later he was given a 30% chance of making it 2 years. After brain surgery, radiation and 11 out of 12 cycles of chemotherapy his tumor retuned. Dad’s neuro oncologist was hopeful that he would be one of her long term survivors and was just as shocked as we were when we saw his latest scan showing his tumor had tripled in size in just 8 short weeks. So now it’s on to a new fight. On October 5th Dad will begin a new chemotherapy agent called CCNU. He will take 6 doses, 6 weeks apart and each 210 mg dose will cost him over $2,300 as this particular medication isn’t covered by insurance.

 

It took a lot of thinking and convincing to get me to this point as I have never been one to ask for help. But… The truth is, I would do anything for my parents.  So with their permission I decided if I’m able to lighten the financial burden for them by creating this page then why not! It will also give everyone else a chance to show your love and support for Papa who is still very much in the fight of his life! He is one of the strongest men I know and continues to fight like hell each day to be here.
