My papa, Robert Summers, has been diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma lung cancer. (Stage 3/4). This is a disease that cannot be cured, only treated to hopefully prolong his time with us. My papa has always been a very hard worker, and has been a self employed construction worker/contractor for almost his entire adult life. He does not have health insurance and has always just paid his doctor bills. However, because of the cancer he will be having radiation 5 days a week and chemotherapy 1 day a week. This will cause him to not be able to work for at the very least 6 to 7 weeks and probably more. Papa would never ask for help himself, so I am doing it for him. His medical bills , along with the cost of daily travel to Joplin and back will be more then he can handle. If you know my papa, you know that he is a wonderful man who would help anyone. He has lived in Miami his entire life and is a well respected member of the community. I am asking that, if you can, please help us raise money to assist in this very difficult time, made even worse by the stress of how to pay medical bills. And if you cannot help (and even if you do) please pray for my papa and our family during this very difficult time. Thank you.
