Papa Marks medical recovery

Yesterday afternoon while Steven and Mark were traveling through North Dakota; Mark started having severe leg pain and cognitive issues. Steve insisted that his dad go to the ER. Luckily, Mark hesitantly agreed, or this might have turned out very differently for us. Upon arrival it was discovered he had a very large blood clot in his leg and further investigation revealed many more in the same area. Surgery to remove the blood clot was successfully completed this morning. However, we received the news that he will be on blood thinners for the rest of his life. The doctor said under no circumstances can he go back to construction ( no ladders, power tools, etc) This is debilitating for him to say the least. Construction is all he has known for 45 years. Not only is this news devastating to him because of the love & passion he has for it but it is also devastating to him financially. His immediate recovery will be 6-9 months (to expell any remaining clots and hopefully find the cause) We feel so blessed that he lives on the same property and I am able to relieve the care giver burden but the financial hardship is still looming. He does receive minimal government support (medical & some food) but rent, power, insurance etc have all been previously paid via construction & side work he is no longer able to do. 

For those who don't know Mark (Papa) he is the most patient and compassionate person I have ever met. He is a strong believer in his faith and an amazing father, grandfather, brother and friend. He would give anyone the shirt off his back and Im sure he has many times before. He has consistently dropped anything and everything to be the rock for our family. We need for him to get healthy and need him around for many more years but to do that we need for him to focus on his health and not stress about his finances.  

Please find it in your heart to help our family. Prayers also mean the world to us. Attached you will find a spreadsheet I created to show how any money donated will help Mark, our goal amount reflects 4 months of basic needs.
