These young, talented and hardworking boys representing Penrith Panthers Basketball Association have qualified for the 2024 Australian U14 National Club Championships that will be held at Casey Stadium, Melbourne in September this year.

The Foot Locker U14 Club Championships is a week-long event that form the pinnacle for emerging athletes within Australia, seeing the National Champion crowned at the end in the boys and girls division. This inclusive event provide athletes the opportunity to represent their club on the national stage, and give athletes the chance to experience a replication of the high-performance environment that Australian national teams experience when they compete internationally.

It wasn’t always going to be a fairy tale ending. During the final round of BNSW Junior Premier League, the Top 4 teams earn automatic qualification to Nationals in September, however Panthers were tied in fourth place with Bankstown Bruins & Newcastle Falcons out of twelve metro and country teams. The last game between Penrith Panthers and Newcastle Falcons was the deciding factor with both teams performing evenly but ultimately the Panthers boys emerged victorious and claimed the final qualification spot for NSW!

Their teamwork, collective efforts and resilience throughout the season have led to their success. To compete at a national level is an opportunity that they are so fortunate to have, but well deserved as they truly fought for their spot until the very end. The growth of the team is a true testimony and reflection of their perseverance. Individually these talented athletes bring their own unique skillsets to the court, but together as a team they amplify each others strengths and perform collaboratively which is the essence of sports’ greatness.

To assist our Penrith Panthers boys to Nationals we are raising money to cover the costs for our 10 athletes, their families and coaching staff to travel interstate for one week.

The funds we receive will go towards the expenses for accomodation, transportation, team gear, meals and all other additional costs that will need to be covered. Any contribution small or big will get us closer to the boys dreams, especially to represent the Western Sydney community in Melbourne!
