Help Panther Ridge Conservation Center build new enclosures and a brand new facility at our new location in Loxahatchee, FL
Panther Ridge Conservation Center is a private non-profit facility that is dedicated to rescue, rehabilitation and preservation of exotic felines. We are dedicated to providing a lifetime home and superior care for captive exotic felines that have been abandoned, abused, or are simply unwanted. Not only do we rescue, but we strive for the preservation of rare and heavily endangered exotic cats. Once a cat is accepted by Panther Ridge, its needs are met for the rest of its natural life and it will never again be in need of a home or at risk of neglect or mishandling. The housing, feeding and care of exotic cats is challenging and costly. Each cat’s diet is specific to its individual needs with more than 100 pounds of beef, chicken, game and supplements every day. Veterinary expenses are constantly accruing, as we strive to provide the best medical treatment possible to our cats. Maintenance of the facility is another ongoing process and unfortunately, we have had the sad displeasure of having to turn cats away due a lack of funds and facilities. New enclosure costs range from $50,000 to $75,000 apiece and each enclosure exceeds Florida Fish and Game Commission standards.
Our goal is to expand and build new enclosures and habitats in order to provide homes for more threated and endangered animals without compromising our standards of care. Panther Ridge needs your help- both to help fund this carefully controlled growth, and to help offset recurring expenses. In addition to tours and public appearances, we eagerly solicit your generous donations. Any amount of donation is greatly appreciated; these animals need you!!
Why relocate?
Panther Ridge has outgrown its current facility in Wellington, FL with no more room to rescue or continue our conservation efforts. We will also be making our new facility more accessible to the public and offer more unique experiences to get the public involved with conservation.
Support our Conservation Efforts
We have recently expanded our mission to include support for several exceptional projects around the globe. We support and endorse the Cheetah Outreach Guard Dog Program, Cheetah Conservation Botswana and Action for Cheetahs, Kenya, as well as the Clouded Leopard Project in Thailand and Dr. Morato’s Jaguar Conservation. With your donations, we are able to donate funds and send desired field equipment to these wonderful conservation organizations. Conservation programs like these are critical for the survival of endangered species.
We are accredited by ZAA (Zoological Association of America), the FCF (Feline Conservation Federation) and the USDA; and are permitted by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
