#PANELS4PINEY
UPDATE: Tesla saw our campaign and moved to donate the panels for our project! This is incredible recognition and validation, but we still have more to do and need your donations and support to bring solar power to Piney Woods!
**************
We are embarking on an ambitious campaign to bring solar panels to the campus of Piney Woods School here in Mississippi.
This solar project will allow our school to create most of its own power, saving the school a significant amount of money in the long run.
The Piney Woods School is one of four historically black boarding schools remaining in the United States. It was founded by Dr. Laurence C. Jones in 1909 to educate the children of former slaves.
The school serves students from more than 28 states, as well as international students. With the guidance and support of Piney Woods’ excellent teachers, 98 percent of the school’s graduating seniors have attended colleges and universities in the past several years.
We are in need of funding for our solar panel project. Using the online campaign, #Panels4Piney, we hope to raise money to bring solar to Piney! Please help by donating and sharing the link!
Thank you for your support!
How Solar Will Help Piney Woods School:
· Hoping to bring a 100KW system which will cover 10% of our electricity needs
· It will produce free electricity for 25+ years
· This allows for more funds to address important items for the PWS students such as scholarships, resources, and development
· It will also bring more budget certainty to the school, knowing that a % of our electricity will be covered for decades to come
