Want to join me in making a difference?
The Erie Animal Network, in partnership with ANNA Shelter, has created “Pandemic Pets Program,” an emergency fund to be utilized by COVID-19 patients. Requirements are that you must be hospitalized due to COVID-19 with no caretaker for your pet. This fund will be used to rescue animals so they will receive the proper vet care and food while sheltering in place or with a foster family. UPMC, AHN, Millcreek Community and the VA will receive contact information to share with their staff. In addition, all senior care facilities in Erie County will receive information for this program as well.
We have received several calls to help pull pets while patients are sick or recovering. We’re finding several pets who have been staying with seniors that have not been properly cared for, primarily due to financial constraints.
We are looking for 1,000 donors to contribute at least $10 to reach our goal. Instead of exchanging Secret Santa gifts while being inside this holiday please consider donating on behalf of a loved one, coworker, or in memory of your animal-loving family member or friend.
A special thank-you goes out to New Motors and Greenfield Basket Factory for their sponsorship. We’d also like to thank ANNA Shelter for donating a portion of the vet care. Thank you all for considering this urgent need. If you know someone that can utilize this service or a business that could be a potential corporate sponsor please email: [email redacted].
Stay safe ❤️
