It is extremely difficult for me to ask, but we are in dire straits. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, I am severely underemployed, and fast falling behind on bills.
Out of the four jobs I was working before this pandemic - with the IATSE at the Classic Center, the 40 Watt Club, the Taco Stand, and independently contracting as a mover - three are no longer currently operating; the Classic Center, the 40 Watt, and my moving gig. My hours at the Taco Stand have also been reduced due to the pandemic.
This has left my family and I struggling to pay bills. My wife is disabled, and unable to work, and my daughter is not yet old enough to work (nevermind trying to find an entry-level job during the pandemic!). In addition, we are still waiting for a determination of my unemployment (one claim filed in October of last year, one claim filed during the pandemic), and our tax return has also been delayed (with no response from the IRS at this time).
We are seeking $2500 to help us catch up on our past due bills, including water, electricity, phone service, and rent. We areas frugal as we can possibly be, which is why we are not further in debt at this time.
While this is somewhat time-sensitive (GA Power starts disconnecting past-due accounts this month, and rent for August is somewhat questionable), we are not quite yet destitute. We are fortunate that we are receiving SNAP benefits in an amount adequate to feed us, so food is not an issue. However, without assistance, I strongly believe we will be homeless in two months.
Thank you for your time. If you donate, please know that you have my family's eternal gratitude.
