Ella Golden is a 14 year old girl diagnosed in January 2019 with a rare disorder called PANDAS. PANDAS is pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorder associated with streptococcus. The infection causes swelling on the brain. PANDAS causes severe anxiety, OCD, physical tics, verbal tics, depression, eating disorders, separation anxiety, rages and more. Each PANDAS case is different and can exhibit different symptoms. Before her diagnosis, Ella was a four sport athlete, always on the go with many friends, up at the crack of dawn ready for absolutely anything! In September 2018, Ella had a bout with strep. Soon after she started having severe anxiety, OCD, depression, panic attacks, physical and verbal tics, and in turn not being able to function on a daily basis. Her anxiety has now become so severe that she has agoraphobia. She refuses to see her extended family or her friends due to her level of extreme anxiety. She hasn't been in school since December 2018. Ella's specialist in Cleveland, Dr. Kriwinski, has tried everything to heal her... but nothing has worked. Ella needs a treatment called IVIG.
