Forest Hills is home to Village Grill, a Greek restaurant nestled at the corner of Yellostone Blvd and Ingram Street. At Village Grill you can find delicious homemade Greek food that has had regular customers coming back for years.
What makes the Villiage Grill unique is Dina and Panagiotis, the couple who run the restaurant. They are as warm and inviting as the food they serve. Anyone who knows Dina knows that she puts her heart into her food. Behind every delicious gyro, souvlaki and hot table daily special is a lot of hard work, preparation and passion. Dina and Panagioti have made friends of their customers with their ready smiles, jokes and funny stories.
COVID-19 has hit every business hard, especially restaurants. Many Forest Hills favorties have closed but Village Grill has been fighting to holding on. The restaurant was forced to cease indoor dining but continued to offer take out and delivery service and felt duty-bound to support our local front line workers, police and hospital workers donating hot prepared meals.
As if the impact of COVID-19 was not enough, the couple was hit even harder by Panagiotis’s recent diagnosis of Stage 4 lung cancer. Emergency hospitalization, multiple surgeries, treatments and physical therapy ensued. Dina has been fighting a battle on two fronts -- keeping the Villiage Grill doors open and fighting the battle for Panagiotis’s life.
Since it opened, Village Grill has been building and supporting the community. This same community to which Dina and Panagioti have devoted themselves has also been deeply impacted by this serious news. The outpouring of support has touched, warmed and encouraged Dina and Panagioti and they are extremely appreciative of all the well wishes, prayers and kind gestures.
This fundraiser is an effort to organize support to help ease the burden of the bills for medical treatments, medications, equipment and therapy not covered by insurance. It is especially needed at this time that business conditions are so challenging. Please consider contributing support and helping ease the burden of Panagioti's road to recovery under Dina's loving care.
