3GC Inc . (Give. Gain. Grow. Collaborative. Inc,) in partnership with True Culture University is actively creating solutions towards the social justice issues that face the global African Diaspora. A specific issue currently facing the global diaspora is the insufficient penetration of service learning on the continent. 3GC Inc. provides fulfilling and enriching experiences for students hailing from 8 different universities across the nation. 3GC follows a Pan-African study abroad model that strengthens bonds of solidarity between our common peoples, histories, and destinies. True Culture University’s mission is to create a digital movement that critically boosts discourse amongst university students of African Descent, promoting the importance of the role, the youth have in advancing the Pan-African agenda.
The parallel missions of the two organizations have led there to be a timely Pan-African Student Summit during what the President of Ghana refers to as the Year of Return. This” Year of Return” meant to celebrate a return of the African American and Diaspora in a landmark 400 hundred years since the arrival of the first slave in Jamestown, Virginia. The Pan-African Student Summit will engage university students and youth of African Descent including: students from the University of Ghana, University of Cape Coast, Ashesi University, local secondary school students, and university students from the diaspora. These students will be participating in critical discourse and dialogue on essential topics towards the liberation of all African people through panels, think tanks, and keynote speaker- Kwame Futurist.
True Culture University will also be launching it’s beta version of it’s mobile app, giving college students attending an opportunity to get a first hand look at the platform.
The second day of the summit will focus on the service learning through a community engagement project, with the summit participants. The project will be held at a local school for students with disabilities in collaboration with the African American Association of Ghana, Caribbean association of Ghana, and the California Study Abroad Program-UG campus. Summit Participants will also be invited to march in Ghana’s Independence Day parade on March 6, 2019.
