My name is Samori Jaali Jackson, and I am a NYU Tisch Film & Television graduate. My short film "Forgive Me Jaanu" created during my senior year has been selected to screen at the 2024 Pan African Film Festival in Los Angeles.

Interracial couples are gradually being portrayed in the media, but rarely are they portrayed by two minorities. This story sheds light on the difficulties and struggles minorities face coming from two strong and sometimes opposing cultures. With a desire to shed topics on racial identity and the intricacies involving romantic relationships. I hope that his work can expand people's perspectives, encourage people to hold conversations about interracial relationships and the complex issues that often transpire. Attending my first film festival is a dream come true. I want to utilize my time there to the utmost extent by making as many connections as possible within the industry as well as to promote my short film. I want to be there so that individuals understand my voice and my vision.
