Pam's Medical Fund
Donation protected
It started a few years ago when Pam was in a car accident. She was hit from behind which caused severe whiplash. Since that time she has seen a chiropractor, done physical therapy and has had numerous nerve blocks and radio frequency neurotomy procedures for her migraines and extreme pain.
On Tuesday, February 16, 2016 around 4:30 p.m. Gary had taken her to the clinic to have a MRI and nerve injections. After the first injection (which usually she has multiple ones done) she started getting fidgety and said she couldn't breathe. She then went into cardiac arrest. Gary and the physician started CPR and she went without oxygen for about 15 minutes. The ambulance arrived and they gave her a dose of epinephrine which started her heart back up again. Once in the ambulance she went into cardiac arrest for the second time. Another dose of epinephrine was given. This stabilized her till she arrived at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.
Once in the ER they intubated her, put her on ice and a ventilator. They did a CT Scan and found swelling on her brain in 2 spots but did not find any bleeding.
They also said it was possible that the cardiac arrest was caused by the injection going into her artery instead of the nerve. But as of right now they are unsure of the true cause. She was then moved to the ICU unit where she remains. They began cooling her body down internally to help with her neurology recovery and other organs. She is in an induced coma.
Around 7:30 p.m Wednesday February 17th they plan to start warming her body back up which will take at least 4 hours and may take longer. The future is unknown at this time. We will try to update the site as we learn more. Please pray for Pam and her family! PRAYER IS POWERFUL
There is a long road ahead of Pam. The donations will go towards medical exspense and to help Gary, Maddy and Brock. Thank you everyone. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
